    I did not expect to love the show I love this show after the episode of Vanessa Ives Telling her story I think an episode 5 on season one Sir Malcolm is my superstar.

    Intriguing and sexy mini series. Well conceived, written and acted. The production value, sets and costume design are as if for a block buster movie. Penny Dreadful has cast me to think deeply about life, death, and points in between and beyond. It's Dickens meets Stoker, Shelley meets Dickinson. Man's inhumanity to man and nature. Human bonds and betrayal. Quality summer binging.

    Expecting a mediocre plot and average acting, I was stunned into awe after watching the first (and subsequently the succeeding later seasons) by Eva Green's astonishing performance and a rich, fun, delightfully dark plot. The stellar ensemble of actors and actresses truly makes this a gem. Viewers can actually feel the pain, loss, excitement, and dread of the characters, getting easily emotionally invested. As an avid movie/tv fan, this is an addicting, binge-worthy piece of amazing. A show hasn't prompted a review of this length and praise in a very long time for me, so that should say something! A must-purchase, worth every cent!

    If the first season was an introduction, the second was an unveiling of consequences and future intent; and quite the reveal it becomes. Many shows these days either rely too heavily on "quirky" characters or some convoluted plot which never truly resolves itself; the writers of Penny Dreadful aren't perfect, but they do quite a good job balancing the influence of plot events upon the growth of their characters with the actions/ reactions/ responses of their characters then influencing the plot of events. With where we're left off at the season finale, I hope, with sincere excitement, this trend continues. And iTunes, I don't know if there are copyright issues going on or what, but I'd like to watch 3 the season as it airs--or as near to it--if at all possible.

    Better then season 1 very rare sequel that's better then original. Not that the first season was bad it was excellent as well but Season 2 blows it away. Acting was top notch and the story was original and exceptionally well done.

    Season One is worth watching. An interesting bringing together of various stories and lore, and you just can’t go wrong with Eva Green. But Season Two is where this show becomes amazing, and goes from 3.5 stars to a solid 5!
