  • The ‘Fluff’ Generation

    By romanumeralz

Just like this recent review by ‘RiddleMeThis’ (6 stars, what a joke!), this new take on DuckTales is absolutely absurd and clearly for a new generation. One that did not realize how much of an impact The Disney Afternoon still has, in the pop-culture zeitgeist. Most of these ‘kids-at-heart’ or even ‘man-children’ today consider themselves critics and easily shell out an ignorant five stars, and be done with it. The passion is gone and it shows. That’s why this new take on the classic cartoon, is truly a forgettable one. The animation is bland, flash, and so redundant. The nephews are supposed to have these so-called personalities, yet I find them revolting and way beyond what their original designs entailed. (Quack Pack did a better job at handling the nephew’s personalities, and that cartoon was heavily scrutinized for its time. And still is..) Especially Scrooge’s informal niece, Webbigail Vanderquack. This whole new direction of trying to make Webby more adventurous comes off flat, and she just winds up being annoying to watch and hear. Especially from how she yells all the time, to try to compensate for comedy (and misses the mark nearly every time). Almost everything about this synthetic show screams plagiarism. The majority of the voices sound all non-authentic, with the exception of David Tennant’s light Scottish accent. The celebrity voice-treatment once again fails too, in this regard. Lin-Manuel Miranda is NO Gizmoduck! He may have played Hamilton, but he’s not even close to the legendary voice actor, Hamilton Camp’s infamous rendition (R.I.P.). Don Cheadle cannot voice act to save his life! The only saving grace this show HAD were the few reprisals of some classic characters and their respected, original-voice-actors. Those being Donald Duck (Tony Anselmo), Goofy (Bill Farmer), and Darkwing Duck (Jim Cummings). In which, has since been replaced by the guy who did the voice of Mickey in the recent self-titled animated shorts (which are great). In this case however, Diamantopoulos is NO Darkwing Duck. By any stretch of the imagination..Nothing is sacred, timeless, or legendary anymore...🔥💰🦆🎩

So far this show is still going strong! Love every minute of it!
  • Love it

I don’t know what show some of these other reviewers are watching, but they wouldn’t know good acting, writing, storytelling, or character design if it punched them in the face. I love this show. I continue to love this show. I would give it six stars out of five if I could. Worth every penny... or dime, I should say. And with regard to Romanumeralz or however you spell your name, I did grow up with the original Disney Afternoon shows. I’ve seen every last episode of the 87 DuckTales plus the movie. I’m in my thirties, hombre. Maybe ease up on those assumptions while you’re still behind...
  • Darkwing is back!

    By Kat Shadowstar

The first episode of this set is the true return of Darkwing Duck, with a new take on Darkly Dawns that should get many fans as excited as Launchpad when all the callbacks are said and done. The rest of the episodes promise more of the exciting adventures of Huey, Dewey and Louie, triplets with distinct personalities compared to the originals. Hoping to get more interesting Webby/Mrs B information while FOWL does their thing, and it looks like we're going to have more interesting episodes with Della, Donald, and of course, Scrooge McDuck! What a legacy!
  • Fire the animation department

Compared to THE 1990s, this is a complete HACK JOB. Whoever has their hands in this should be ashamed of themselves.
