He now spends his nights as a homicide detective with his smug partner, Donald Schanke, fighting the city's most brutal crimes. Joining in Nicholas' quest is Dr. Natalie Lambert, a brilliant forensic scientist, who is inching closer to the cure for his supernatural condition. The master vampire Lucien LaCroix, however, will stop at nothing to ensure that Nicholas remains a vampire. In his darkest moments, Nicholas turns to the lovely vampire Janette, who offers him unconditional loyalty despite her prominent standing in the vampire underworld. As the stakes get higher and his path to redemption becomes burdened with temptations, Nicholas valiantly sets out to conquer his curse night after night.

  • Loved this show, still do.

I watched this show when it came out, and after watching it again many, many years later, it's just as good as it was back then. Yes, special effects are better now but the character development was superb as was the acting. Glad this show was brought back.
  • Best Vampire Show of its Time

This is by far one of the best vampire shows ever and my favorite. I highly recommend this show!

  • Thank you SCI FI Channel

I used to get up early and watch this show weekday mornings on the sci fi channel many years ago. I am very surprised to see it on iTunes, and even more surprised that despite the cheesy and mediocre stylings of the show, it still holds a very special charm for me. Preview a few and see what you think, as i doubt this show is for everyone
  • episodes mixed-up

at least for me, episodes 6 and 7 were the exact same episode when i downloaded them, and the descriptions are wrong. check wikipedia to make sure you are really downloading the right thing.
  • Great show

Forever Knight, is just a great show. I have been rewatching the series and I can't believe how many canadian actresses got their start in this show and movied on to other sci-fi shows, like Lisa Ryder(Andromeda), and Christian Cox(Blood Ties) The characters in this show are great too. It's definately worth the watch!
  • Addictive

The show only has 3 seasons but is worth watching. It can seem corny at times but once you watch it it all plays together nicely. If you like vampires buy this season or your missing out.
  • Adored by Some, Worth a Look for All

This series has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it when they began to air it in the mornings or afternoons on Sci-Fi some where around 97. I saw only three or four episodes of the third season while visiting my grandparents, but I never forgot it. When I saw the first season on sale I remember shouting happily and grabbing it off the rack to show my family, carrying it around the store with me because I desperately wanted to buy it but couldn't yet afford it. This show is almost a root of where my love of vampires comes from. Nicolas Knight can be seen as the archetype of the guilt ridden vampire out to prove his humanity. The original TV movie came out in 1989, though the series ran through most of the early 90s. Before there was Buffy with her Angel or Moonlight with Mick St. John there was Nick. Many Buffy fans in the know point to Nick when they talk about Angel and the similarities are quite striking. Moonlight on the same channel that originally aired Forever Knight in many ways can be seen as an updated, youthful and more sexual version of this show. The almost identical plot lines of several episodes as well as the older mentor vampire character with a sarcastic sense of humor can be seen in both. All of that said, while I love this show and it is archetypal it is not the best show to ever exist. The historical elements of some episodes are quite intriguing sometimes and other times are laughable. The special effects are enough to make even me laugh or cringe as much as I adore the show. Unless you adore early 90s fashion, sometimes the outfits alone are enough to deter. And while Nigel Bennet as LaCroix is by far my favorite character his snarling, scene chewing can be a bit much to take at times. The fact that this was a show that never had a budget is obvious, such as the fact that the night club only ever plays one song. The techniques used in every episode are quite standard starting with whatever case, which inevitably leads to Nick thinking back about a similar happening sometime in his lifetime. And Nick has a lot of lifetime. While most series these days place their vampires usually within a 200 year span, ancients usually don’t top 500 this is a series that’s protagonist was a Crusader and has vampires that pre-date Christ. Historical figures that appear through out the series include Adolph Hitler and Joan of Arc (played by Vikki of Blood Ties.) So if you like vampire shows and don’t mind a little extra cheese and if you can get through the beginning narration (I recommend fast forwarding through it after you’ve heard it once) than check this show out. It’s a treat that is finally getting a bit more of the respect it deserved even if you chuckle too. If hammy acting and bad special effects are something you cannot see past at all, don't bother with this show. It will not please everyone, some will find it frustrating though most I know who dislike it strongly usually do so on it's poor visual appearance from age and lack of budget. Long before they persuaded CBS to bring back Jericho with a bunch of nuts, Forever Knights loyal fans refused to see their show canceled. They tried I believe six times over this shows rather unusual run, taking dramatic measures in the end to make sure there would be nothing to bring back. It remains true, however, that if you fall in love with this show it will be forever.
  • A forerunner of this genre

Don't let the late '80s - early '90s fashions (not to mention the hair and makeup) deter you. Well actually, if you are the type of person who can't see past superficial details like that, stay away. If, on the other hand you can see beyond, jump in to this classic series. Forever Knight is one of the forerunners of the gothic urban vampire genre on television. While the sets and special effects may be lacking, the plots do hold up surprisingly well, and the premise was, at the time, quite new and intriguing (the vampire who is trying to atone for his sins and become human again). If you happened to catch the recently aired Moonlight series, you'll realize that they practicaly lifted the premise from Forever Knight, but didn't do as good a job of it.
