  • I had high expectations

I am a certified aviation nut - pilot, mechanic, airport bum… I thought this would be a great series, but I feel it was written with the non-aviator in mind. Very shallow coverage of topics that could have been quite helpful to those in the aviation community. The border crossing segment did nothing for me as a pilot wanting to fly from the US to Canada some day. None of the required paperwork, flight planning, or preparations were covered. They only talked about customs agents being our friends. I would expect them to be friendly or at least professional. It seemed that we were paying to fund the staff's aviation desires. From the avionics upgrade to the producer's plane to the type rating of another reporter, we were just along for the ride without getting too much of the stuff us aviation nuts thrive on. It seems the whole segment on WestJet was a paid advertisement or a way for the staff to get some free flights later on. Granted this is not a King Aviation School video, but my wife found it far more entertaining than I did. She is a tolerator of aviation, but would never be considered a fan of aviation much less a certified nut.
  • A little rougher around the edges than seasons 2 and 3, but still very good.

You can tell in season one that they didn't quite have it all locked down. The first season seems a little "smaller" overall but having seen season 2 and now the beginning of season 3 it's obvious that this show has really developed itself into a real winner! That doesn't diminish the entertaining variety of topics the first season covers. It's interesting to see the early signs of the show's development, like the simulator segments which were expanded in season two. It's well worth it. I'm glad they continued!
  • Epic shows for the flight enthusiast!
