This is cool lots of episodes 52 episodes for 45.99 still pretty expensive though, what if they made the price only 9.99! That would be awesome.

Now, I wouldn't say it truly fell apart after Stephen left production. It did have some funny episodes, but it DID decline as well. Like it or not, the real crap factor truly happened in the episodes AFTER this set ended. ESPECIALLY THE LATEST EPISODES! 7/10, I wish there was a 3.5/5.but all well.

SpongeBob went into a considerable decline after the release of the movie. The first set is pretty much all you need. Avoid the post-2004 episodes at all costs, as only the first 60 are worth watching (the first 10 episodes in this set are part of Season 3 so they're still high-quality, but the others are not). Creator Stephen Hillenburg has nothing to do with the episodes after Season 3 from what I have gathered. Parents will have a low tolerance for the lack of inventive writing/animation and Tom Kenny's even higher-pitched voice. Please do not be deceived into buying the later episodes for your children. This kind of thing is common in animation, and it is usually the network's fault. Prime examples of this include The Simpsons after Season 10, Ren & Stimpy after Season 2 (when John K. was forced off of production), Rugrats after Season 3 (Arlene Klasky went out of control and ruined the show by forcing out Paul Germain), and Dexter's Laboratory after Season 2/Ego Trip (Genndy Tartakovsky was no longer involved). Networks like Nickelodeon must prioritize creativity over profit. If television is to foster sharp wit and intellect in future generations it must be engaging and cutting-edge. The latter-day SpongeBob episodes simply are not.
