The American Baking Competition features 10 passionate home bakers competing for the title of best amateur baker in America. Each week, these bakers will compete in three unique challenges - "Signature Bake," "Technical Bake" and "Showstopper Bake." The contestant who out-bakes the rest is that week's "Star Baker," while the one whose creations fail to impress is eliminated. The final challenge will be among the three remaining contestants, one of whom will go on to be crowned the best amateur baker in America and win the $250,000 grand prize. The winner will also be awarded a publishing contract with Simon & Schuster to publish their own cookbook with Gallery Books.

Viewer Reviews

  • Fail. Rip off of the British show

    By StoryDelver

Come on people. At least TRY for some originality. This is just a (very) poor imitation and rip off of the Great British Baking Show. No slight to the bakers (bake on!), but this has none of the charm of the original. Go watch that.
  • A poor copy of the British version

    By stef.incognito

Completely missing everything that made the British version so wonderful and endearing. The judges are bad, the host is terrible, and nearly no one can actually bake.
  • Can't compare to the British original

    By Cbuckman

I love The Great British Bake Off, but this is a sad parody of the original. For starters, the host is boring and lacks the light joviality of his English counterparts. Marcela Valladolid is no substitute for Mary Berry. (It's painful to watch Valladolid and Paul Hollywood together—enough said.) The skill level of the American contestants is sadly lacking. Most of the bakes look like something anyone with a oven might make, whereas the Brits are continually whipping up innovative and delicious looking concoctions. The setting is dark (often filmed at night) and the surrounding countryside dreary. For some reason, the editors choose to focus on the self-proclaimed "redneck" contestant and after a while she grows tiresome. I'm not surprised that CBS canceled the show after one season.
  • Love this show

    By SystaM

This show is wonderful. What I love most is the thougthful and relaxed mood. just like the Danish version. The baking is the real star not the host, noise or other distractions. The host is relaxed and very good and the judges give nice and useful insights. Just miss the first episode? Long live this show!
  • First Episode?

    By JJMS1375

Good show, but where is the first episode? C'mon Itunes!
  • Great new show.

    By Jah G

My mom and I watched this a couple days ago. We both really liked it. It is fun and does not seemlike one of those shows that is set up. We missed the first episode though. I wonder why they do not have it on here? Oh well, I set it to record on FIOS, then I found the Jeff Foxworthy Show at a thrift store. haha!!!!
  • Premiere?

    By Regalredstar

Where's the premiere? I'm grateful for this episode but I'd really like the first one too.
