  • Cheap Trash

Could have been good. Instead just constant references to sex and nudity everywhere even in public. In Florence people would have been burned at the stake by the church if they did this stuff in public.
  • Ignore the negative reviewers, it's quality and compelling.

Surely there are fictionalized additions to the pieces of Davinci History, but the scope is otherwise brilliant. Solid acting, writing and cinematography. It's the best $5 I've spent for an HD season ever. No, it's not a copy of GAME OF THRONES. It's a period piece but that is where the similarity ends. Those saying otherwise are simply ignorant and could use an education. It's not for children and plenty of violence and adult themes though most of the nudity is brief. For grown ups seeking a good tale, grab this one fast! It's very good.
  • Love this

I love this show and have watched both seasons. I really wish that there were more than just the 2 seasons!
  • Renaissance Florence

    By DawgBone22

This is an entertaining series. Violence, sex, beautiful costumes, authentic sets, skilled actors, excellent direction, etc, etc. In combination, Renaissance Florence really comes alive. What an amazing time and an amazing city! In many ways Florence is actually the main character. The description of Leonardo is, of course, mostly fiction. We know quite a bit about the real Leonardo and his life. A good place to start would be Serge Bramly’s biography, Leonardo the Artist and the Man. If you are interested in entertainment and a vivid sense of Renaissance Florence, you found it. If you are interested in the truth about one of the most fascinating men in history, you should look elsewhere. I’m a bit disappointed by the distortions, but then people routinely distort the truth to suit their agenda.

I'm thinking about buying the second season does anyone know if there's subtitles in Spanish or English. Thanks!
  • It is rather gay.

I doubt the historical references. Very well acted. Too many naked men and penises for my taste. C'est la vie.
  • Whatever

Given the title of this show, I thought it might possess some sensitivity and intelligence. And maybe it does—but after enduring the first ten minutes, I stopped watching because it seems to provide more of the same as other shows—men so evil they seem like cartoons with the usual senseless and idiotic gore. Yea, we all know the gore hooks the audience—if you can make those bored and cubicle-dwelling American feel at least something, then they are entertained and will come back—even if its just to pollute their minds further. Cha Ching. Right? I would imagine this show has some redeeming qualities and indeed I will not object to violence if it seems to posses some quality other than just to shock—but in the end of my day, I just do not want to watch this cartoonish crap.

Love this show! Interesting, entertaining, with some political skullduggery!
  • Sensational! A feast for the eyes!

This show is a feast for the eyes, an intense drama. I loved season one, but season two is mind blowing I find myself swearing at the end of each episode because I can't wait to know what happens next just like the first season. Each episode keeps one guessing. Watching this film is like watch a moving renaissance painting. I love the way the show has brought Da Vinci's inventions from his notebooks to LIFE, while some inventions might not have been possible to make in his time it is still cool to see and think that perhaps he might have been able to make most of them work. I have to say that in a T.V. industry that produces shows that are either crime dramas of some sort or reality T.V. this show is a breathe of fresh air and reminds me why I like to watch T.V. I feel that I can once again can enjoy a show that transports me to world of mystery, magic, and adventure. It also doesn’t hurt that the guy that plays Da Vinic is a pleasure to watch, his acting the part of Da Vinic is well let’s just say I can’t see anyone else who could pull it off. For those who loved the Lord of Rings movies, The Borages, True Blood (1st season), or Vikings or, just a really good escape show this is a must have. You"ll find that you can watch this over and over again and with each viewing find some part of the story that you didn't notice before. So I suggest popping a bowl of popcorn along with a bottle of wine and set back a moment to be swept away by a good story.
