Viewer Reviews

  • This is a great show

    By schmidt911X

This really a fun show. If you like shows that have a heavy military component you will like how the show is presented. The plot is really interesting, the acting superb, the relationships between characters dynamic and the action scenes in perfect balance. I really enjoy The Last Ship and give it 5 stars. I just completed the first season and can't wait to start season 2
  • Love it!

I love this series! I just hope there's a season 3 after that cliffhanger!
  • Love the show

I love military movies and this show is just right down my alley. I love the drama and the characters of the show. I think the captain fits the role pretty well. I really enjoyed it.
  • Awful

    By British Bulldog

How can they make a show on an operational war ship and still get it so wrong? You should have gone on and just watched the real people do it for a few weeks. This is possibly the worst military type show I've ever seen.
  • Cheap production - weak dialogue - terrible acting

    By Mahdi M

Full of cliche; high school dialogue that ruins the plot. Terrible acting and directing.
  • Awful

I was excited that the William Brinkley book was turned into a series (an interesting if flawed book). The series is exactly like it except for it lacks plot, character-development, suspense, dialog, existential dilemmas and everything else that made the book interesting. Although I bought the series, I couldn’t make it past episode 4. I would like my money back.
  • Believable and very entertaining

    By JuiceBurger

We find this series very entertaining and believable would highly recommend giving it a shot.
  • Not bad

    By T-Steg

I enjoyed watching the crew having to overcome obstacles. Its not a five star rating but it does keep you wanting to watch more.
  • Has huge potential. Need to respect the content and the viewers

    By Exbuster

The opening episodes sucked me in. The slick equipment, compelling actors and characters, and story lines make it hard to walk away from. There are just some glaring things they need to tweak to prevent insulting the caliber of viewers they attract...1) everyone on this show is magazine model pretty. I find that VERY difficult to believe. I can almost ignore it with all the other achievements in this show, but it remains 2) the technical magnitude of this project means any slip ups in how the U.S. Navy operates is glaring. I think there is an obvious effort to remain true, but this is a risk to the show. I read the original novel some years ago. The intent of a dedicated crew of the USS Nathan James remains, but all other elements of the story line have been updated for Post Cold War reality of our times.
