John Constantine is a man waging war against the forces of darkness — from both within himself and the outside world. An irreverent, working-class con man and occult expert, he’s an experienced exorcist and demonologist with an extensive list of supernatural contacts. Following the aftermath of a tragic incident, Constantine has sworn off investigating matters of the supernatural. But with dark forces gathering power, he reluctantly resumes his old life — allying himself with Manny, a rogue warrior angel; Zed, a psychic with a dark past; and Chas, his only friend who’s managed to stay alive. Reflecting the lore of the fan-favorite comic, CONSTANTINE combines noirish storytelling with the evolving mythology of John Constantine, a morally challenged character who doesn’t come down on the side of either good or evil … but ultimately might be the only thing defending us against the dark forces from beyond.

Viewer Reviews

  • Matt Ryan shows that he understands what makes Constantine tick; an excellent series

    By alex j russell

"Constantine" isn't 100% loyal to the original "Hellblazer" comic book series, but that's okay--- Matt Ryan is about as close to a live-action John Constantine as you can possible get and everything else just falls into place around one of the best performances I have ever seen. At first glance, Ryan's Constantine is all swagger and arrogance, but as you get deeper into the show it becomes clear just how much Ryan researched and understands the character--- he breathes so much life into John Constantine that if he would be the only person to ever portray him, I would be more than content with that. The special effects, the supporting characters, the music--- they're all top-notch and really embellish Constantine's world; the storytelling sometimes veers into predictable territory, but by and large the episodes deliver exciting, character-building stories that are full of DC comics easter eggs and other little bits of information that build upon each other to create a very special comic book TV show. I highly recommend this show to fans of the original comic book series and to people who like paranormal detective shows centered around captivating anti-heroes; you will love it.
  • C’mon!!!!!!!!

NOOO!!!! Constantine is my least favourite character in the entire arrowverse! He claims to be getting rid of demons but guys, lets be realistic: the only way to do the magic he does is through demonic crap. Now, he has his own show? No. Just no. The flash is the only good arrowveese show left now that arrow is over and legends has Constantine in it!
  • Amazing

  • I'm HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED!

I watched the ENTIRE season of Constantine on NBC; LOVED it! Couldn't wait for season two. They said it was epic and stay tuned for season two ONLY FOR IT TO BE CANCELLED. But thats not why I'm ticked off. I bought season one via itunes and its NOT COMPLETE! Zed did NOT come into the show on the second episode; THERE ARE SOME MISSING EPISODES! I don't blame apple for that; Its NBC's fault. Check it out for yourself.. If you watched the show you will see...
  • Awful

    By awcoffe

A truly awful show that deserved to be canceled. That this crap show got four+ stars is proof that the iTunes rating system is complete garbage. The characters were absolutley unbelievable, the story lines were unoriginal, and the special effects could have been done by a fourth grader.
  • Second season please!!

Be aware, recently streamed this previously purchased episode. Featured the song Anarchy UK which really made the episode an instant classic. Song has been replaced on this episode with God knows what. Very disappointed in iTunes. Should not rewrite artistic history, regardless on who purchased what rights - no excuses... Can only see original unedited version on CW Seed, at least for now. Makes me rethink having gone "online digital." I wasted my money on iTunes!
  • The true Hell Blazer brought to life

    By LuRu19

With out a doubt my favorite comic show that was airing on NBC at the time. Unfortunate that it was canceled due it's late time slot because the show was truly amazingly well done & put together. From casting to set pieces, you couldn't help but watch to see what horrors Constantine would face in each episode & how he would find a way to maneuver out of them. I can only hope that the CW can "kick start" a season 2 of our favorite nicotine addicted magician.
  • Bring back the show

    By Cjackal

Everyone wants this show to come back, so why give supergirl season 2, to which the show sucked, and not Constantine?
