    This show masquerades with gothic themes while having little to no original or entertaining content. It uses crude nudity, sex scenes, and generic plot lines to entice an ignorant audience. It’s a shame that television has to use such shallow tactics to be relevant...

    I loved this show and ESPECIALLY the way it ended. The focal point had always been Vanessa. Her story was told and wrapped up. I agree with everything AMJ33 said about the quality and attention to detail everyone brought to the series. Penny Dreadful is probably the closest thing to perfect I've seen in the genre.

    I loved this series! It’s perfectly gothic AND hauntingly beautiful. I could go on and on about the outstanding actors in this show and their amazing performances. I also believe that great work and careful detail went into every scene- the lab, the cities, the gorgeous decor, even down to the wall paper and beat up counter tops…I noticed everything! More so, the dialogue and crafting these characters and monsters to be complex and genuinely troubled was so well done, so reinvented and fresh… what replaces this show now that its over? Nothing that I can think of. It really is unique, poetic, dark, and lovely and doesn’t fall into the traps that other shows do when they attempt something like this.

    I can`t believe the story ends in such a way. There are so many unclear connections that have not been explained and unfinished stories that are still going on. I`m giving 5 stars for the actors. How I wish there would one more season to expect! :c

  • Who Killed 'Penny Dreadful'?

    We may never find out the truth behind this show going off after only 3 seasons - after all "Truth Is Mutable" - but whatever the reason i hate that it did. The ending of the 3rd season was wholly unsatisfying, regardless of what John Logan said. It just felt like there should have been more. Perhaps one more season to tie up the stories of the other main characters - Ethan, Malcolm and Victor. Anyway, it's a great show and the more times i've watched, the more i've seen that makes me come back and watch again. i'm not easily drawn to tv shows but this one got me and hasn't let go, even though it's ended. RIP Penny Dreadful. :(
