Viewer Reviews

  • Continues Twin Peaks but NOT Twin Peaks.

    By PaulS.

I had just finished watching (the original) Twin Peaks when I bought this. So, I got the references. The reason why we loved (the original) Twin Peaks was it presented what seemed like a normal Washington State logging village. The more we explore this logging village, the more we find out that it had a strange and even seedy underbelly. The normal veneer still offered enough grounding that the strangeness would be welcome to offer texture and story arc to the characters we meet. This clearly continues telling the story of Agent Cooper. However, it is not the Twin Peaks we know and love. The first few episodes are just plain the psychedelia of David Lynch being David Lynch. In this continuation, the village of Twin Peaks is more of a side story. It is not necessarily a bad story. You just have to be into the kind of more strange strangeness that this story has. David Lynch could easily have made this series outside of the Twin Peaks Story and the vast bulk of it would still have worked.
  • Best show ever!

This is what you get when you let a true artist do his thing.
  • Diane...

This is perhaps one of the greatest shows from yesterday and today. The original series was brilliant, the limited series is equally as brilliant. There is more to the limited series than just Twin Peaks. A good understanding of David Lynch's prior works would be helpful for those just starting off in the world of Twin Peaks. I can say that this one was a definite Mind [exlative deleted]
  • Stunning

It’s hard to describe how truly moving and masterful this piece of Tv/Film (?) is.
  • Once In A Lifetime

I parked myself in a dark room every Sunday for 16 weeks during the summer of 2017 for the original Showtime series. I sat no mare than 3 feet from the screen for the most exciting, exhausting and beautiful film I have seen. Anticipation for each segment was palpable and the emotion experienced during those segments carried far past the closing titles (that must be watched). Social media was an integral component. After the series, hearing David Lynch prescribe viewing requirements that included headphones, screen occupying entire field of vision and a very dark room reinforced my own experience and is a must as you will certainly understand when you fall into each piece.
  • Whatever

    By bendalton99

As an original Twin Peaks super fan, I was hoping against hope at how good this could be, I was ready to have that feeling all over again like when I saw the original series when it first aired back in '90. Complete garbage. It took 18 episodes to explain what could have taken 3. Complete letdown. I get it, I get it, it's art. Or something. Whatever. It also could be entertaining, which this wasn't. It was like Lost HIghway met Fire Walk With Me. I know, I know, Lynch is art, and yuo have to just understand it. Or something. BUt this was just painful to get through. Awful. And to those that rave about it, if it was so great and ground breaking, why did almost nobody watch it? Because nobody cares about garbage. I know, I know, nobody watched it because only that many people actually get it or understand art. Whatever
  • Great show!

Not disappointed with this show at all!
  • A Masterpiece of the Highest Order

    By Stunned Fan

The original TWIN PEAKS was groundbreaking television that forever changed the medium. 25 years later, this new iteration is something new entirely -- an eighteen hour hybrid that once again changes the medium forever. An epic masterpiece featuring bravura filmmaking by David Lynch and amazing performances from MacLachlan, Dern, Watts and many more. Will be an influence on film, TV and streaming for years to come.
  • One of the best experiences ever on television.

A journey both wonderful and strange. Wish the extra Blu-Ray content was available on iTunes. I don’t know of any reason why it shouldn’t.
