How to Use Subtitles for the Cheers: The Complete Series Videos

  1. Move the subtitle files into the same folder as your video files.

  2. Rename the subtitle files to exactly the same name as your video files. e.g. Cheers: The Complete Series_Episode_1.mp4 and Cheers: The Complete Series_.srt.

  3. Open the Cheers: The Complete Series video in VLC or your media player. The subtitles will automatically appear in the video. If it does not, check if the Cheers: The Complete Series srt files are correctly named, then close and restart your video player.

    I love Cheers and grew up watching it as a child from the first episode to the last. A great show with an amazing cast, writers, etc. I was so happy that iTunes had a sale for $19.99. It was such a steal!! I am so happy!!

  • Not All Episodes Included in Box Set

    I bought the Box Set of Cheers but only got 24 of 44 episodes in Season 1 & Season 2, similar in all the other seasons - what's going on iTunes???? Says I must buy the "Season" to get these unavailable episodes - huh????? I've contacted Apple Support by email, they have no idea - case # 101066370736 - don't buy the Box Set unless you only want perhaps half the episodes.

    I’ve heard of this show as a kid but I’ve never seen one episode. After learning more about it, I decided to try it out. So glad that I did because this show is hilarious, deep and inspiring on so many levels. I cannot get the theme song out of my head. So far, I’ve only watched the first 2 seasons but I’m looking forward to the other seasons.

  • A True Classic

    When iTunes had the complete Cheers series for $19.99, I decided to upgrade from my dvd copies to the 1080p digital downloads. Great decision! Not only is the quality better, several licensed musical sequences from the original broadcasts that were cut from the dvd release have been restored (Most noticeably Bobby Fuller's "I Fought the Law" which was used in the 9th season episode "Grease"). Update: Downgraded my rating due to persistent audio glitches and occasional video problems across the first 7 episodes. So far these have been fraction-of-a-second drop-outs, but I expect more from a high-definition product. So happy I decided to buy this! Despite being rooted in the 1980's culture, Cheers features writing and characters that are truly timeless. A true television classic.

    Cheers never jumped the shark. It never lost its touch. Even with cast departures and additions the chemistry was always a perfect mix. It was on for over a decade but it didn’t overstay it’s welcome. It’s easy to imagine they could have gone another decade without missing a step. The writing was consistently clever, the acting impeccable and the direction a deft mix of perfect timing and real heart so it didn’t matter that an overwhelming majority of the series took place in just one room of the bar. In fact it felt mow familiar and even comforting it could be a little disconcerting if they spent a little too long away! This was the birth of modern ensemble sitcoms as we know them. The DNA of other shows in big and small ways can be traced back to that Boston bar. Friends, Seinfeld, The Office, Community among many others have to acknowledge at least some influence to Cheers. And like the best television shows, it still stands the test of time.
