  • The Next Generation!

This is a well-executed follow-up to the original Roots! The person who asks such a question about concept evinces most clearly that the "concept" is still worth discussing. Perhaps, if you watched both events, that you would understand the "concept" a bit more. While those who would agree with you are extremely ignorant as are you, I only hope that you decide once and for all that you won't succumb to it and watch both series. This country and the world are still reeling from Slavery and Reconstruction, as it has only been 145 years since the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. I have just come from a seminar in Ghana, West Africa, and the "concept" is still a source of pain. And, I might add, Roots became the highest rated mini-series in television history. Try it. You might learn something about yourself, your beloved country, and history, not just black history...American history. And if you don't, shame on you and condolences to your progeny.
