How to Use Subtitles for the Space 1999, Series 2 Videos

  1. Move the subtitle files into the same folder as your video files.

  2. Rename the subtitle files to exactly the same name as your video files. e.g. Space 1999, Series 2_Episode_1.mp4 and Space 1999, Series 2_.srt.

    Season 1 had thoughtful stories and dialog for its time. The second season, as reflected in the change in the title music, takes on a cheaper and less intelligent tone. It definitely has a Sid, Marty & Croft feel to it.

    Great show but the ordering is not ideal. See the Wikipedia article for the production order, which is a nice way to watch it. I think this ordering is the U.S. air date, which is essentially random. (They were designed to be randomly shown but it's still nice to follow a logical order).

  • Bait and Switch

    I purchased Season 1 while it was available. No warning was given when it was withdrawn. I foolishly left it “in the cloud” for streaming rather than downloading copies, and no, it is no longer accessible. Apple may be about to lose a customer.
