How to Use Subtitles for the Stargate Atlantis, Season 5 Videos

Season 5 finds the team of intrepid explorers facing peril and uncertainty from within the vast reaches of the Pegasus Galaxy. It opens with Colonel Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) mounting a rescue mission to retrieve the missing team, before being called back to Earth after serving only one year as leader of Atlantis. There is mixed reaction to the appointment of her replacement: I.O.A. representative Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo). His bureaucratic background will prove difficult for the maverick style of Lt. Colonel John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan). The brilliant Dr. McKay (David Hewlett) will face exceedingly difficult personal challenges, while Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) learns to integrate motherhood with her role as warrior. Ronan’s past will return to threaten him again and chief medical officer, Jennifer Keller (Jewel Staite), will find help from a most unlikely source. Meanwhile, a provisional relationship with the Wraith takes a shocking turn and new adversaries will test everyone’s courage and resolve.

  • And then the wheels fall off

    Atlantis was unquestionably the best of the Stargate franchise. SG-1 was Sci-Fi For Dummies -- even the characters, for some annoying reason, played dumb all the time. It was like a tribute to The Three Stooges in Orbit. SGU was their attempt to go all dark and heavy and super-serious, and it's just dull and draggy and boring. Atlantis hit the middle ground just right. Best stories, best characters, best cast, best bad guys. And then Syfy pulled the plug in the middle of season 5, and you can see everyone involved lose interest. Episodes 13 and 16 are throwaways, a couple others are weak, the infamous penultimate one in Alterna-Vegas was just an insult to fans, and the finale is rushed. But I'd still watch this season again over anything SG-1 or SGU had to offer.

  • Sad that this is the last season

    Stargate Atlantis has always come up with interesting new episodes and this season is no different. My favorite episode is Whispers. It is so scary, completely different from any of previous episodes. Even though I'm sad that this is the end, there is always Stargate Universe

    This is, without a doubt the most interesting season in all of Stargates history. Most of the ideas in this season are fresh and will keep your undying attention all the way through. It baffles me how they could cancel such a good show, with so much potential and replace it with a putrid pile of horse feces know as Stargate Universe. I really hope they continue the show, they cut it off way too short and could go on for a few mor seasons at least. This may very well be one of the best Stargate seasons ever along with Stargate SG-1's seasons 4 and 7.

    it's unbelievable that scifi would cancel a series with such high standing among the fans. I've loved this show since its debut in '04 i think, and was ready to knock out the people in charge of sci fi when i realized it was the final season. The movie is taking forever and I can't wait, but this show, all 5 seasons, are awesome and I recommend them to any stargate or sci fi fan out there.

    I remember when this show first came on; it was such a big deal and FOR A REASON. An excellent show with great scripts and actors, you'll love Stargate Atlantis. My favorite episode off of this season is "Whispers" which was great (if you like a good scare, watch it around three in the morning when nobody is awake) and nearly gave me a heart attack ten times (yes, I kept count). Great show.
