Welcome to Super Why!, a breakthrough preeschool series designed to help kids ages three to six with the critical skills that they need to learn to read (and love to read!) as recommended by the National Reading Panel. These skills include alphabet skills, word families, spelling, comprehension, and vocabulary. Super Why! is the first original program from Out of the Blue Enterprises, an innovator in interactive children's entertainment led by Angela C. Santomero, an Emmy-nominated co-creator of Blue's Clues, and Samantha Freeman Alpert, a veteran in children's entertainment. Super Why! makes reading an empowered adventure by using interactive literacy games that need the child to play. Super Why!, reading is power!

Viewer Reviews

• Absolute Garbage

By pankajchandgupta

I bought it thinking they will show a lot of stories etc. Turns out that this is one of the dumbest programs out there for kids. It takes nice classic stories, and totally messes them up, alters the story line and finds faults with the original story. Totally destroys all the stories and they are not even fun to watch. Just filled with unnecessary garbage songs and filler material.
• Low Resolution?

By Red_and_Green_Fish

We (especially my 4 y.o.) like the show a lot, so I would give at least 4 stars for the content. However, I took one star because I was disappointed by the quality of pictures. The resolution is only good enough for viewing on iPad or iPhone (that is to say tiny screens)! The images are blurry on my 11" MacBook Pro, annoyingly worse if we use our HD TV to view, which I prefer to do for my child.
• Volume 3, Juan Bobo and His Pig

By Quinn T

Overall - my two kids love this show, and I wound up getting all the volumes. The only problem is Volume 3, Juan Bobo and His Pig, which happens to be my children's favorite. I'm unable to complete the download (error (-50) after 50mb or so. Contacted iTunes customer support, and the initial 'fix' (which is to redownload) did not work. I hope I get 'joy' in downloading this episode!
• Terrific Kids Program

By SavvysMom

The characters are very cute and funny. The repetition of the letters and the songs really help little ones learn. I find myself singing the songs throughout the day as well. Good, wholesome learning!
• Great educational tv

By jsaw23

It has my 2 year old yelling out letters and interacting with the characters. Instead of playing "Superman" he plays "Super Readers!!" Thanks PBS
• Great for all preschool ages

By genbower

I have a 2 year old boy and a 4 year old boy and they both love it! It helps my older boy start to read, and the younger one identify his letters. Great show!!
