Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson and Taraji P. Henson team up in this thought-provoking crime action drama from <i>The Dark Knight’s</i> Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions (<i>Fringe</i>, <i>Lost</i>, <i>Alias</i>). Set in New York City, with all of its multifaceted elements of justice, this procedural centers on an ex-CIA agent, presumed dead, who partners with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes. Using data siphoned off the U.S. intelligence agencies’ threat matrix deemed irrelevant to national security — information concerning not terrorism, but violent crimes of a personal nature — the unpredictable former agent Reese and his enigmatic partner, Finch, identify a “person of interest” and set about solving the mystery of the impending crime that person will be involved in. Tapping into the world’s Big Brother–like surveillance network, the shadowy duo knows that something bad is going to happen; it’s their mission to discover what that event will be … and somehow prevent it.

Viewer Reviews

  • One of the worst TV shows I've ever seen

    By Radiance

Terrible acting. Incoherent script. 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back again.
  • best show on tv

    By celaenos

seriously, incredibly intelligent written, fantastic cast, so, so good.
  • Horrible Writing. Horrible Acting.

    By Studly Field Mouse

We’re living in a time when all the kids raised with artificially inflated self-esteem and participation trophies have entered the world of work. I can just see a group of them as TV writers, in love with every though that comes into their head(s), just spinning story after story out of thin air like a little kid, completely oblivious to the way the real world works, physically and socially. Everything about this show is non-sensical fantasy, with not a chance in a million for anything in real life to play out like it does on the show.
  • i love this show and iTunes but….

    By smoove0384

love this show, the rating isn’t for the show, the show is a 10 star, but this is about iTunes, why would anyone pay 50 dollars per season, when at best buy i got all three on blu ray, and no bs, it was less than 50 for all of them combined, come on iTunes, you can’t have digital prices be so ludicrous if you want many shows to be purchased, i am fully aware of rights and cost of rights etc, but if best buy, target, walmart have all 3 for 50…something is off about that
  • Worth every penny.

Person of Interest is unique. You won’t find a show like this anywhere else. Every part of this show is amazing from the acting, direction, score, and most importantly, the writing. Hell the show predicted Snowden and his actions. The first season set up the entire show beautifully with a strong structure, introducing strong storylines, providing backstory, and never letting the characters forget who they are. Michael Emerson is the star of the show here as the elusive, billionaire software genius. Although critics are giving the show good reviews, its one of the most undervalued shows on network television. Person of Interest is as good if not better than the Good Wife. Network television quality isn’t dying and you may think its because of the Good Wife but you are wrong, its because of Person of Interest. The show has the uncanny ability of getting better as the show progresses which is amazing considering it starts so strongly. It takes about 8 episodes to get into but once it goes off, the ride does not stop. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS UNDERVALUED GOLD MINE!

    Great
  • Even an action/fantasy/procedural needs to make some sense.

So they’ve taken the comic-book hero persona (like Batman) and split it in two, then applied it to a procedural. We have the billionaire/tech-genius & the handsome/combat-expert. Within that world it should follow it’s own internal logic. But NO. The Machine spits out nothing but a Social Security number. However, in some episodes, the PIO is a foreigner just visiting the USA, so s/he would certainly not have an SS#. Some more examples. In most scenes, Finch is hobbling along with a pronounced limp, but in others he is seen jogging in the park. Likewise, Reese manages to sprint down several streets, shortly after being shot in the gut. When Reese confronts multiple bad-guys, they respond one-on-one, or they run. Finch is able to hack hard-core clandestine databases, but he needs civilian help to crack the DMV and juvenile criminal records. Reese stops one female subject from being shot, with seconds to spare... three times in one episode! No one ever has any problems in immediately accessing secure buildings. Reese says he “travels light” and needs no luggage, then shows up well-groomed, in several changes of clothes. No one notices Finch sitting in a car across the street taking surveillance pictures (with a wide-angle lens). The two cops seem to be able to run any test (ballistics, blood, forensics etc), look up any record and work on any case, with no questions asked. There are many occasions where a ruthless opponent will kill anyone who gets in his way, but defeats Reese and then leaves him virtually unhurt. In one absurd scene, they need to prevent the bad-guy from reaching the airport. So they set up a huge gun in a deserted, dead-end alley and wait for the limo full of people to approach. Why the hell did they take that route and why the cannon? On another case, Reese rams a limo with a construction truck, then pulls out the severely-hurt bad-guy for questioning. No mention of the innocent chauffeur. I could go on... And I realize that this is just an escapist fantasy, but why do the darn writers assume that the audience are such nitwits? Please, apply some intelligence!
  • Great show keeps getting better

The plot progresses across multiple shows. Every episode we discover more about the characters. I loved the Rear Window remake. Very smart.
