The third season of <i>The Andy Griffith Show</i> begins with "Opie's Rival," in which Opie becomes jealous when his father appears to be paying special attention to a pretty girl. Later in the season, Barney tries to set Andy up when he mistakenly perceives that Andy is suffering from a broken heart in "Barney Mends A Broken Heart."
