    This premiere episode was especially interesting for me because I have a 3rd great-uncle who fought in the Civil War and who spent five months at Andersonville after being captured at Petersburg in July of 1864. My favorite part, in fact, was when she visits the grounds-- that was haunting. Kelly seems like a nice girl who loves to hug people… the only thing I would say that, although no one denies that slavery was/is a moral evil, we need to be careful not to think "Union = good" and "Confederacy = bad." They both had valid reasons for fighting.

    So happy this show is back! This was a wonderful episode to start the season. It showed our history as a Country, showed where to look for your own family history at archives, cemeteries, libraries, at State Houses. It also showed all the types of documents or record sets available to search for our stories. Great individuals who assisted and great story all around! SUPER

    Wow. I am a huge Kelly Clarkson fan, and after watching this, I love her even more. It was the coolest thing ever. I knew her strength must have been throughout her whole family, past and present. It is so fantastic that such a fabulous trait could come from more than 100 years of history. Love you, Kelly!

    Yep the stars were aligned. I can't believe after watching this she sang for our president !!! I don't know her personally , but from watching her interviews I would agree , her 3 times great grandfather is saying go girl !!! Carry on !!!!
