    I'm so glad Lewis is finally up on iTunes for purchase! It's a great series for anyone with a hankering for a good old-fashioned British murder-mystery. The acting fantastic on the part of everyone involved, especially Kevin Whately as the marvelous Inspector Lewis, Morse's protégé, & Laurence Fox as the would-be priest turned copper, Sergeant Hathaway. The show doesn't rely on flashy graphics or in-depth forensics to get the job done, just good, solid policing, with more than a few wisecracks thrown in along the way. But what really makes the series shine is the partnership between Lewis and Hathaway; the cerebral Hathaway can always be relied upon for a poetic line or two, and the intuitive Lewis is forever dependable and dogged in the pursuit of the truth behind cases. If you've watched and loved Morse, Poirot, or other Masterpiece mysteries, then this is the series for you.

    Love this series. Wish the earlier ones were available on iTunes! Lewis is excellent--all instinct and psychology, the product of a long police career. Hathaway is brilliant and cool, rarely allowing himself to be ruffled by anything more than a ruined suit, and makes the intellectual connections that are needed to understand crime in Oxford. But beneath these easy characterizations, the pleasure of watching the series truly comes into play as these two private men come to understand and respect each other, and learn to play to their strengths. Add in the wisecracking, sensible Dr. Hobson, who gets some of the best lines in the series... I have watched them over and over, and have not tired of these yet!
