Funny...I used to complain about shows being cropped into 4:3 old tv size from their original 16:9 ratio.....but now they are doing just the opposite. At what point do you not get it?Leave the films/series alone as what was produced.Let me sell you some land I’s beautiful and only underwater 3/4 of the year....two stars for size of cropping
  • These have been cropped

These have been cropped to fit a 16:9 ratio. Do it right and release them in the original 4:3 or don't bother at all.
  • Cropped

They cropped the top and bottom of the image on all the old episodes which were originally animated in a 4:3 aspect ratio. These episodes are missing nearly a quarter of the image.

I loved The Simpsons ever since I first watched it.
  • Outrageously Bad Cropping

What a joke. Even the SD version is hacked from the beautiful, original 4:3 aspect ratio and cropped into 16:9. We should be able to watch these shows as originally intended by the producers. Scam.

  • Avoid.

I do love the series, even though the first season wasn't its strongest. But the versions of the episodes posted on iTunes (at least for this season) have been mangled -- cut for syndication (21 minutes vs. original run time of 23 minutes) and (badly) reformatted from 4:3 to 16:9 screens. Buy the DVDs.
