Steve Carell (<i>The 40-Year-Old Virgin</i>) stars in this sitcom based on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's award-winning comedy. Told through the lenses of a documentary film crew, <i>The Office</i> exposes the humorous and often foolish events at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In this first season, Dunder-Mifflin Regional Manager, Michael Scott (Carell) leads the documentary team and his staff on a journey through inappropriate behavior, well-intentioned but misguided comments and a myriad of poor management techniques. Michael has no clue that his employees can barely tolerate him. In his mind, he is their guru, their mentor, and their cool friend. His staff includes his dedicated-to-the-point-of-annoying assistant, Dwight Schrute, office receptionist Pam, and likable sales rep Jim. During the six episodes of Season 1, Dunder-Mifflin tackles tough subjects including company layoffs, diversity initiatives, health care, and office alliances. Anyone who has ever worked in a "team" environment can appreciate the humor and suffering of the Dunder-Mifflin staff and <i>The Office</i>.

Making a characteristically bad leadership decision, Michael decides not to tell his staff, but the information quickly leaks. Meanwhile, Jim (John Krasinski) is not having a good day after losing his biggest yearly commission to Dwight (Rainn Wilson). Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak also star. | 3. | Health Care | Get Subtitle | Mirror 2 | 22:02 | When Corporate wants Michael (Steve Carell) to pick a cheaper health plan for his employees, rather than lose popularity points with his staff, he shirks the responsibility and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) happily accepts the task. Delighted with his new position of power, Dwight takes over the conference room as his new "office" and manages to offend everyone by asking staff members to divulge their private medical history. Novak also stars. | 4. | The Alliance | Get Subtitle | Mirror 2 | 21:58 | Amid the rumors of downsizing, Michael (Steve Carell) tries to raise employee morale with a birthday party, despite the fact that the closest birthday is a month away. Meanwhile, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) asks Jim (John Krasinski) to form a "Survivor"-type alliance so they can protect themselves during the upcoming downsizing. Elsewhere, Oscar (Oscar Nunez) collects pledges for his nephew's cerebral palsy charity walk. Michael tops everyone's donation by offering twenty-five dollars - not realizing the donation is per mile - and tries to back track on his generous offer. Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak also star. | 5. | Basketball | Get Subtitle | Mirror 2 | 22:03 | Michael (Steve Carell) and select members of the office staff prepare for a game of basketball against the workers in the warehouse. Novak also stars. | 6. | Hot Girl | Get Subtitle | Mirror 2 | 22:05 | An attractive woman arrives at the office to sell purses and causes furtive glances from male staff members who vie for her attention.
