Call the Midwife is based on the best selling memoirs of Jennifer Worth. Set in the 1950s, this six part season is a moving and intimate insight into the colorful world of midwifery and family life in London’s East End. We are introduced to the local community through the eyes of young nurse Jenny Lee as she lives and works as a midwife alongside the Nuns of the Order of St. Raymond of Nonnatus.

When Frank, the brother of Peggy the cleaner at Nonnatus House, is diagnosed with cancer Jenny and the nuns are called upon to provide him with care. In doing so Jenny comes to know the siblings better, learning of their upbringing in a workhouse and the profound effect it has had on their relationship. As Jenny tends to Frank, the other residents of Nonnatus House find themselves involved in helping Fred with his latest money making venture - a pig called "Evie". Fred's plan had been to make his fortune from bacon, this is spoiled when it's realized the pig is pregnant. The nuns and nurses help out Fred and Evie in the manner they know best.||6.||Episode 6||Get Subtitle||Mirror 2||52:00||Sister Monica Joan is found wandering near the docks, and returned to Nonnatus House by the police. Her adventure takes its toll on her health and she succumbs to pneumonia. When she eventually recovers she sails forth back into the community only to find herself in trouble with the law when she is accused of theft. As Sister Monica Joan's case progresses to trial the Nonnatus House community fears that the old nun could find herself going to jail. When you are done downloading the Videos, follow the processes below to Add the subtitle file to your Call the Midwife, Season 1 videos
You can get the .Srt subtitle files for each episode in Call the Midwife, Season 1 by following the "Get Subtitle" Link beside every Episode above. You will be taken to a page where you can now select the appropriate subtitle file for your downloaded episode.
Alternatively, you can use the "Mirror 2" link if the first does not work for you!
To Add Subtitle files to your VLC Player, follow these steps accordingly:
1. Move the subtitle file into the same folder as your video file.
2. Rename the subtitle file with exactly the same name as your video file, so you have two files like this: Call the Midwife, Season 1_Episode_1.avi and Call the Midwife, Season 1_Episode_1.srt.
3. Play your video in VLC. You should now see subtitles appear over your movie. If you don’t, double check the .srt file is correctly named, then close and restart VLC before playing again..

3. Click “Add a Caption Track” and browse to select your .srt file.
4. Select the language from the drop-down, and make sure “Caption file” is selected, not “Transcript file”.
