It’s been a year since we saw Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher), a lovelorn Internet billionaire, attempt to drown himself in the ocean after his wife kicked him out. He stumbled into the Malibu beach house where tightly-wound chiropractor Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) and his slacker teenage son, Jake (Angus T. Jones), had been living with Alan’s brother for the past eight years before his untimely passing. Walden bought the house and invited Alan to remain there, saving Alan from having to move in with his mother. Walden asked Berta (Conchata Ferrell), who had been working in the household, to stay as well. Despite his unsuccessful history with women, Alan found himself mentoring Walden. Walden, Alan and Jake adjusted to their new living arrangement and created a surrogate family unit to make each a better man … or at least try.

    It USED to be incredible funny. The characters and the lines. Now it is a pathetic show. Alan and Jake still are somewhat funny. Kutcher is not even remotely funny. Sorry guys. You were wrong to let him go. You should beg him to come back !

    I loved this program when Charlie was in it. I gave the last two seasons a chance, but there is no way Ashton can replace Charlie. It has gone from a really funny series to a very vulgar one.

    Although I took a long break from this show after Charlie Sheen's disappearance, I am back as a fan again. I really enjoy every episode - Ashton is fun (in a very different way than Charlie Sheen but that's very clever!), also Jake has changed but is still funny, and Alan as always is hilarious in this disgusting yet pitiful way. Still a very entertaining show with witty dialogue! PS @ all those inflexible hard core Charlie Sheen fans who find the show so horrible now. I am just wondering why all of you obviously still keep watching it!!! Guys, there is an easy solution to your pain: just don't turn your TV set on if you find it so sad and depressing and terrible!
